Yesterday one of the biggest Christian Hip-Hop albums of this year dropped – none other than Andy Mineo’s ‘Heroes For Sale’ released under Reach Records – storming its way on to the iTunes album charts. Listening through the album it was this track that stood out the most. The bass line and dubstep elements just make this such an awesome track – this really is the kind of music that should be played on the radio, and hopefully could well be thanks to the success that Andy and Reach Records have seen from this.

As you will probably know, Hillsong United’s album Zion has been getting a lot of attention recently, but getting less notice are the remixes of it being created. This remix is by Roots, an 18 year old producer from the UK, heavily inspired by the post-dubstep scene. Roots is fairly new to producing but in the short space of time he’s been making music his releases have become steadily more sophisticated. With electronica (and more specifically, various sub genres of dubstep) becoming more and more popular it’s great to see someone boldly proclaiming their faith in a music scene so heavily rooted in nightclub culture. This song by Beautiful Eulogy, Theory Hazit and Lee Green is the lead single from the Rapzilla.com benefit album of the same name. Beautiful Eulogy are a hip-hop trio made up of Courtland Urbano, Braille and Odd Thomas and are signed to the Humble Beast record label, along with Theory Hazit and Lee Green. The beat to this song is so brilliant it just has to be played loud, this isn’t CHH replicating secular hip-hop, this is CHH making it’s own statement, and some incredibly gifted artists just being creative. This is truly original hip-hop, and it’s great that it’s coming from Christian rappers too. Anyway enough talk. Enjoy!
